Hello! I am Kat Winstanley, the founder of Winstanley Wellbeing and Inclusion.

My career has been shaped by a deep belief that people thrive when they feel supported and valued.

Over the last 13 years, I have worked across the care sector, mental health, wellbeing, inclusion and people development, leading initiatives that create lasting change. I have held senior roles in organisations where I helped build positive cultures in challenging climates, supported mental health and developed inclusive practices.

My journey into wellbeing began through experience, personal and professional. I saw first-hand how inclusive culture and genuine support can transform people’s confidence, performance and sense of belonging. It inspired me to focus my work on creating environments where people can bring their whole selves to work.

Starting Winstanley Wellbeing and Inclusion is a natural next step for me. It brings together everything I have learned about people, leadership and culture into one purpose; helping organisations and individuals build healthier, happier and more inclusive ways of working.

Vision and Values

Winstanley Wellbeing and Inclusion exists to help people and workplaces grow with compassion and authenticity. We support organisations to create inclusive cultures where wellbeing is more than a tick box, it is part of everyday life and leadership.

We believe that wellbeing and inclusion are  deeply connected. When people feel included, they feel well. When they feel well, they can contribute fully and bring their whole-selves to work.

Our approach is grounded in understanding and partnership. We offer practical and person-centred support, from wellbeing strategy and training to facilitation and leadership development.

Authenticity – Show up as ourselves and encouraging others to do the same.

Compassion – Lead with genuineness, empathy, understanding and care.

Inclusion – Celebrate difference and make space for every voice to be valued.

Growth – Support continuous learning, reflection and improvement.

Integrity – Do what we say we will do and act with honesty and respect.

Recent MHFA training Testimonials

The course is an amazing insight into the complexities of mental health and the role you can play as somebody supporting others who might be struggling. It's detailed, has a good mixture of practical application and discussion, and challenges your knowledge and abilities. Kat was amazing. She's passionate, empathetic, considerate and captivating as a presenter and facilitator. She really brought the content to life, with a healthy balance of sharing her own experiences and encouraging us to share our own. She kept us on track without ever having to rush any aspect of the training. She was kind, gave plenty of potential trigger warnings and I felt truly supported by her throughout both days.

I just wanted to say Kat was absolutely fantastic. At no point was the course un-engaging or boring, even though a LOT of information was thrown at us. Kat also managed to stay somehow both extremely professional but also friendly and kind hearted when required to. At countless times Kat would check-in with the group ensuring everybody was doing okay, coping well with the difficult topics, and looking after themselves even once the course finished for the day. A huge thank you to Kat for being a fantastic role model for MHFA England, and overall a wholesome lovely person.

Kat was a natural in leading this course, she tackled difficult topic expertly and with constant check ins for the welfare of the team and you can tell how much she cares and feel her passion for the topics. She made the course informative and fun through building such a great sense of community amongst the group despite the difficult content at times. I cannot recommend her or this course enough as my second time completing it. I feel both informed and inspired to go out and be a MHFAider! Thanks Kat.

Kat managed the time efficiently while enabling key conversations to build understanding. She approached sensitive topics with care and made sure that everyone felt comfortable and confident throughout the training, which will set us up for success in this role. She is friendly and approachable, and I really appreciated her effort and care in the time leading up to the course so that I could feel prepared for the course.

The course was fantastic. Every aspect. The pace, information given and the support couldn't have been better. Kat made me comfortable, kept me engaged and really boosted my confidence to be able to have what I previously thought of as uncomfortable conversations. I've previously completed a lot of courses in various workplaces and this was a clear cut above what I'm used to and expected.

The course itself is brilliant. Really insightful and detailed whilst being sensitive and considerate to all people. Kat delivered it not only with perfect professionalism but genuine passion of the subject and earnest love of helping others. I cannot fault the course nor Kat in any way. I have already suggested this course to three of my colleagues as I strongly believe as many people as possible should have this knowledge and skills.

I had the pleasure of working with Kat Winstanley in her role as Wellbeing Lead at BrewDog, where she brought both expertise and authenticity to our Mental Health First Aider community. Kat is a truly inspiring professional with the rare ability to combine strategic leadership with deep compassion and lived understanding.

As a speaker, she is engaging, energising, and unafraid to break taboos. At our event, she shared invaluable insights on topics often left unspoken in workplaces – from men’s mental health and menopause to neurodiversity, eating disorders, and intersectionality. Kat has a unique gift for creating a safe space where people feel encouraged to listen, reflect, and act.

Her track record speaks for itself: leading BrewDog’s global mental health and wellbeing strategy, training and managing over 200 Mental Health First Aiders, and championing inclusion through EDI and neurodiversity programmes. She has received multiple awards, including recognition from peers and senior leaders alike – a testament to the impact she makes at every level.

I would highly recommend Kat to any organisation looking for a dynamic, knowledgeable, and deeply committed wellbeing and HR professional. She doesn’t just deliver programmes – she inspires cultural change and equips people with the tools and confidence to make workplaces healthier and more inclusive.
